 Granite
Granite is a coarse-grained igneous rock commonly found in Michigan. It comes in many colors and combination of colors. Granite is formed when magma cools and is composed of quartz and feldspar. The crystallized, coarse-grained minerals can easily be seen with the naked eye in each rock. Colors vary from red, pink, gray, to white with black grains, depending on the amount and mix of minerals.
